I love both metallica and megadeth, but Rust in Peace is the only Megadeth album I consistently listen too, the other albums rarely. Early metallica is on the whole better than early Megadeth. That said, Rust in Peace is a brilliant album.

P.S. Good review, but you say that Dawn Patrol is 'just a filler'. I've never understood what everyone has against short instrumentals or little songs put in between all the songs. I think they make a nice break from the furious guitarwork and overall add to the album. On that note, Dawn Patrol has an awesome tune to it, and Mustaine actually sounds really cool on it.

Dawn Patrol is just boring. I play this cd in my car pretty often, and when dawn patrol comes on I just skip it.

And to make my stance clear, with no bias against Megadeth, I truly find Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning significantly better than this. I personally think Peace Sells is Megadeth's best album, I like it a lot better than Reign in Blood but still not as much as MOP.

Nice review. I absolutley adore this album. Is my favorite album by far because of the amazing guitar solo's and riffs. My favorite tracks are "Holy Wars", "Hanger 18", and "Five Magics" but I love all of them dearly (except maybe Dawn Patrol) :P

man, i agree with the high praise of this album. it is quite possibly one of the greatest metal albums of all time in my book. every song is a feast for the ears. i picked this album up the same day i did Reign In Blood by Slayer, and while that did blow me away, it was because of the shear chaos. Rust In Peace blew me away because of the speed and technicality of everything. it just sounds like great metal fun the entire album. my fav metal album... and the one that makes me go "Metalli-who?"This Message Edited On 11.05.07
