The chorus of One Last Time is my shit.
I haven't been able to get Screen Time Overload out of my head since I saw them perform it live either. Gonna give this some more listens before slapping a rating on it but this is head and shoulders above their previous output.

Hell yeah Steak I did the same thing. Took a long drive to an Asian superstore with my wife and baby and forced them to listen to this the whole time lol.

falls into the swancore problem of 'every song sounds nice individually but they're a drag all together'

yeah swancore is a redundant genre

There are like 2-3 standout swancore bands, the rest are redundant yes

As I’m digesting the songs more…this shit rules. Will Swan’s main project at this point IMO

"falls into the swancore problem of 'every song sounds nice individually but they're a drag all together'"
I don't think this album is that for me but yeah, the genre bigtime has that issue. Works best just plucking songs for a playlist from certain bands.

The artwork is really cool. Highly recommend checking out the artists instagram.
Also, the opener might actually be my favorite Coda song now. Super catchy and I like the way they slow it down for the "I just stand at the river wondering" sections.

In Angles is more swancore-adjacent but they definitely deserve more love.
out of the big swancore hitters, I'd say Hail the Sun and Eidola are the most consistent and least shit on.

The threeway of Malfunction Parts into Clinging Reeds into Different Path is the best I've heard from this genre in a long-ass time. Everybody killed it.

"i shit on Eidola whenever i get the chance"
lmao fair I love Eidola but I guess they get hate too. I don't mind Stolas but they never really made anything that blew me away.

the riffs on here and general guitar work is refreshingly simple and works so much better. its nice to hear Will not trying to fit as many chords as possible in each bar
