Revisited Demonic Wealth today after jamming this for a week straight…the side-to-side comparison is WILD. Loving the mood this puts me in, but DW is definitely a more dynamic experience.
Such a great run of records so far, yah

Such a cool underated band, they def take too many chances on each release for their own sake. All their records verge to blow.
Agreed, their best is DW with a rollercoaster of events. This is a solid and steady experience, and its blessing is also its curse - the amazing outworldly closer, that kinda burns everything around to ashes in hope. We have to be resilient tho, and focus on those dirty descendant riffs all around the other tracks.

He has his moments lol
Finally listened to this, I'm really digging this. The synths feel much more well integrated here.

This is good. Don't sleep.

Fantano is honestly not that bad when it comes to metal

i don’t mind his metal taste even tho i’m p far apart from what he likes generally. but he has a tendency to speak with authority about something when he’s wrong e.g. last Ulcerate record where Jamie (drummer) had to correct him in the comments. that’s usually what irks me a lil bit but ig the strong opinions are his thang
|
| |
lol, just went to check out that sequencing comment - hilarious

I attempted to watch his review of Meshuggah - Koloss a while ago, and it was very apparent he had no idea what he was talking about when it came to Meshuggah's sound
|
| |
He’s spoken positively about Meshuggah in the past so it’s more of the fact that that album is kind of nothing new for them in the slightest
|
| |
Didn't know that, I understand that perspective. However, I still think his description of Koloss was a little off as he emphasized riffs as being the central component of the album instead of the grooves and patterns.

Bump before Meshuggah dethrones for metal AOTY

This will still be top 5 probs
