This is great, love this band, but that title track is outrageously kitschy, I really think it's one of his worst songs

The ‘80s synth stuff here is really kitschy yeah, but I like that, any cheese here is good cheese

As poppy and synthy as this one is I would be fascinated to see them go full synthpop/sophisti-pop in the future. Doubt it’ll happen though.

Anyway, this continues to grow and grow. Close to giving it the 4.5 bump. Could even see myself preferring this to A Deeper Understanding some day as while that has 3-4 tracks I prefer to any here, it also has quite a few I admittedly don’t really care about that much. This is certainly the better overall listening experience.

Yes, I even like Old Skin and Rings Around now, just consistent as anything, and tracks 4-6 is a fun run of tunes

I mean this is quite cheesy but still a way off the Springsteen ‘Born in the USA’ full chedda

One thing I like is the last minute of a lot of the songs here are my favourite part of the track

The middle 8s aren’t lazily written either, that’s usually what you get with commercial rock albums

Ain't the sky just shades of gray

Until you seen it from the other side?

Oh, if loving you is the same

It's only some occasional rain...

"Living Proof" is a really subtly beautiful song, perhaps the biggest grower on an album full of 'em.

Yeah, it's great, the bookends are probably my top two, with Change and Rings Around My Father's Eyes competing for third.
