> real talk is this even worth spinning?

Yes.

Comparing it to the other Carcass releases is quite useless anyway. Just have fun.

I LOVE MELON'S LOGIC

Carcass play safe and they stick to their classic sound without changing too much their sound or taking risks: a 7

Napalm Death's last album: they took risks and they tried to make a mixture of their late 90's sound with their classic death metal sound, It's not good.

Yep, this is what I was referring to. An album this far into a band’s career has no right to be this good. Fair play to the lads.

Just realised that Flesh Ripping Sonic Torment Limited is a reference to their first ever demo, the only release with Sanjiv Sumner on lead vocals. I wonder what happened to him.

This was just another carcass album for me, which is by default great. Not as captivating as SS but very good and enjoyable throughout.

These guys still knows how to kick ass and doesn't sound stale compared to similar aging bands
