Haha, I was actually super busy for a moment and missed all the unrelated hoopla so no harm done.
Glad you love the first track; the second one was actually the moment I knew this was gonna be amazing and it only gets better IMO. Good luck trying to cram all 109 minutes of this into one sitting though! This album is pretty dense and unapproachable in that regard, even if it's a creative and aesthetic godsend.

this is 109 minutes can someone tldr it for me so i can rate it

My personal TL;DR would be give this a spin? It's certainly not a microcosm of the whole album (nothing could be), but it's one of the stronger tracks and shows off some of the weirdness you'd be in for:

Almost lost me for a bit and there was a shower, but Ojos is also delivering the goods hmmmm the slow slow slow race to willitbea4+ feels like watching the brexit results come in all over again my heart can't take it

Okay first disc is maybe like 3.8ish on first spin but I wanna spend more time with it and I WAS GONNA go to sleep now but fuck me Piel is the best so far, what a stunner

Album Rating: 5.0
Yeah Piel is easily the most accessible tune here IMO; immediately enjoyable compared to a lot of this which requires lengthier immersion.

Maybe I was just in a better mood or whatever but second half definitely felt better than the first.
This sort of thing still feels way too long and I'm not quite getting the emotional response you are, Sowing, but maybe I'll give it another spin?

I'm just floored by the quality across the board. It's experimental, weird, accessible, tuneful, scary, beautiful...I don't know. If it didn't resonate with you I can't promise that it will on subsequent listens but you can always spin it a few more times and see!

i split this into halves when i listened, as with anything this length i think it could afford/benefit from condensing and then i'd feel better about a higher rating

Suppose it really just depends on how consistent you find the album. Anything from Lift Your Skinny Fists to The Seer could be shortened, just boils down to taste. I find the entire thing beautiful.

>I wouldn't say our musical tastes are always a perfect overlap, but for some reason I can't pinpoint, I do picture you enjoying this?
I'm working on a theory that between our mutual respect for Low Roar's 0 and The Seer that our Venn diagrams intersect somewhere in the realm of long, sad/disturbed melodrama

Haha that sounds about right. Well this has the sad/disturbed melodrama, and it is definitely long enough :D it's sort of a blend between eerie/experimental Radiohead and droning Swans synths. I don't want to set unattainable expectations, though (I say, giving this a 5 with that summary).

Love that av Sowing ;)
I am going to need some more time with this one. It does remind me a lot of Kid A's eerie, apocalyptic vibe. I'm not sure how I feel but I'm endlessly intrigued.
