This is about the fastest I went from a 3.5 to a 2. First listen was pretty good but man I really grew tired of this about as quickly as I liked it, if that makes any sense.
Live fast; die young I suppose. The opener is really thrilling and does recall their earlier days. Despite being under 3 minutes, it feels as fully-fledged as something like Crucify Me for instance. But I’d much prefer the rest of this being their more electronic stuff. I just can’t get on board with nu-metal. Especially if it’s cookie cutter 00’s nu-metal

Wait you think this is nu metal?
I'm confused.

Tracks 2-7 are. The only reprieve is the interlude and the song with Babymetal which I thought I liked that song but man it gets worse over time. And Ludens kind of is. It’s the most “experimental” here but the chorus is grating. I think the only reason I have this at a 2 is because the opener and closer are fantastic.

So is this the new Limp Bizkit album?

God I want the new Limp Bizkit album.
|

On the wiki page for it BMTH apparently was helping Limp Bizkit write their new record and then Fred like wasn't even showing up to sessions and they scrapped it.

I must say, this album cover is cool but why does the background look like something you would find in an elementary schooler's sketchbook?

Dear Diary, Teardrops, and Kingslayer are the highlights for me.
The Linkin Park worship is real on here

This might be their best album honestly, it's at least on par with TTS
pop bmth > rawrXD bmth, it's official now

Also just hit me what that one guy was saying in that list, the dear diary breakdown is the Deftones Swerve City riff except it's slower, choppier, and has a chromatic run every other go round. Identical notes and cadence though.

Really surprised by how much I'm enjoying this.

This has been at the same score all day damn. Is the second negative staff review on the way?

And that's how wonderful life from amo was born. Dope track btw, best from the album.
"pop bmth > rawrXD bmth"
Always thought that, I don't even like Sempiternal and I tried it several times over the years. Spirit on the other hand is god tier alt metal. AND I even start to enjoy amo to a degree which is like... gosh

Baby this ain’t pop BTMH. Pop BMTH is TTS and Amo. This is just nu-metal BMTH replaying the worst of Amo and TTS that had an incredible opener and closer keeping this from less than a 2 from me. The bulk of the music here is way less than a 2 but the opener and closer are both unashamed 5’s
You want pop BMTH and it’s the best of Amo and TTS and the only reason I liked those albums like “Fresh Bruises,” “I Apoligize,” “Ouch,” and “Avalanche”. That is pop BMTH and it’s way better than anything here.
This album had me wishing for those moments but instead we got the worst 00’s alt-metal tropes: the album. Instead of being the best of TTS, this wound up being like “True Friends”
This band is so uneven and it will be their downfall. I’ve always just wanted a future garage album from them. They could do it if they wanted to.

I’m posting this again from me in hopes they actually do it.
Fresh Bruises is their best song and I will defend that stance. I’m so sorry this album is such a back pedaling from that.

I will take “Crucify Me” and “Dear Diary”: the album
I will take “Fresh Bruises” and “Ouch”: the album.
But don’t give me this shit.
