Well Danny deserved to get kicked out because of certain, likely true, allegations. But I hate that their sound got compromised, regardless.

anyway I just broke up with my gf and "If You Weren't My Son I'd Hug You" just fucking killed me dead. I just relocated to a new country a couple months ago for an appealing job position, convincing I could keep up the LDR thing for a year or so, then covid lockdown once again, can't go in/out of the country maybe until March without breaking 'laws' and/or having customs issues when going back. Add to the fact that I just met a really nice girl randomly through work, and she's been pushing me to go out for a date and I just gave in. This song played in the background while I was pondering and jeeeesus christ I feel like an emo kid 15 yo once again. also I mean we pretty much had overlapping music tastes, so she would have dug this too. Apologies for using this as my diary, but today I'm really sad.
And I’ve been drinking for days
Trying to find my home
I’ve been lost for awhile
Sinking in myself
It’s time to let go
Views from the past
Walks in the dark
Holding onto you
Whatever “you” is
It's time to let go
To what could have been our smiles are gone
To where we were I’m sure we’ll meet again

I wonder if I should try this again
I think I got kinda bored last time and quit half way thru
It really seems like something I should like

I still maintain that the mixing is awful. Its a big muddy mess with very loud kick drums.

I'm in Mink-COVID land Denmark. It's not really clear what the f is going on, but they're the only Scandinavian country that has undergone quite strict lockdown. seems the strain(s) in the region are quite contagious. I don't know. but they essentially closed as much as Italy these days (where I was before), even worse frontiers are closed so she couldn't come even if she wanted, and for me moving is complex for a variety of reasons.
Anyway I still haven't heard this with good speakers lol

Yeah I hear that. I'm in Berlin and my wife has been in New Zealand for 3 months and she won't be back here until march. Its rough.

@Ecnalzen give it another spin dude. The hooks are so damn catchy. Pick a song or two that stand out, pick those apart, and then move on to a couple more if you found you were getting bored.
@Keaton I disagree hard about the mix but that's life, ya know?

yeah I'm still with Walrus on this, I think the mix is pretty strong. Gets a lil muddy with the guitars but the drums sound so good that I don't care

This album needed wayyyyyyyyyy more love than it got last year. In general I feel like these guys are super underrated. Killer vocals, stellar drumming, and math rock guitar licks. Every one of their albums is a jam.

Not a bad album but definitely their weakest. I'm still looking forward to more tunes from them though.
