"It's incredibly hard to make anything original anymore tbh. Read an interesting scientific paper on how the vast majority of products in all mediums are derivative of something else."

sounds like complete bollocks. these notions that "nothing new lies under the sun" have been around for thousands of years. just fatalistic human thinking.

burial is alright he did untrue and released some solid eps. good garage artist, for sure. but yall need to get into black barrel. that man is taking dance to its peak in modern times. nothing like it has seen the earth before.

but i do like this man and his affinity for putting a vinyl sample through every song. lol.

@hal

Disembodied vocal samples, liquid off kilter percussion, scratchy semi Lo-fi atmosphere...from memory state forest is just some anodyne drone but I could be confusing it with beachfires

sounds to me like you just don't like when he changes up the formula. i can concede unique, but i don't think an unwavering adherence to his typical sound is interesting. and state forest is a good ambient track. listen again

They're pretty boring tho, even for ambient tracks

Young Death is decent, but why did he put them all at the beginning

had the same reaction. i was skeptical about the structure of this release but some tracks really showed their full potential here that i hadnt seen before

After reading all of your posts here (which have all been various shades of the same curmudgeonly nonsense) I'm wondering if you're just in desperate need of a personality

When I look at his avatar it's pretty easy to dismiss his opinions on music that is not metal
