Ello Doof

I like this, it’s a lovely listen.

Evening.

Quiet Amplifier, Love is Everywhere (despite the Wet Wet Wet'ish song name) and Hold Me Anyway are top tier Wilco and seal the deal on this being a bit of a 2019 favourite

Last three tunes are perfection as a grouping, I'm genuinely impressed these dossers still had it in them

I'd given up on them producing something great but the new songs sounded pretty good live, almost excited to check this out.

A lot are calling “Hold Me Anyway” a highlight but the chorus doesn’t quite deliver, and it’s always a bit awkward when your verses are better than your chorus.

I do really like most of this but it still feels like it’s holding something back...or ultimately it’s just a very good album and not quite an excellent one for me.

Verses are often better than choruses for me...I think

I do like that chorus though

Yeah I guess I do too, it's more that it's awkward when the chorus doesn't build on the verses in an interesting/effective way. "Hold Me Anyway"'s verses feel like they're building to something and the chorus doesn't pay off for me, I think that's why it leaves a bit of a sour taste for me especially since it's one of the more "chorus-y" songs on the album if that makes any sense.

I've never listened to Wilco. Just hear Bright Leaves and that is one cool song, love their use of texture.

Just came home from the concert and unsurprisingly they were amazing.

Album rules hard, fighting for top 10 of the year for me

This has already kinda fallen out of rotation for me, it's very good but slots around the third weakest Wilco album. "One and a Half Stars" is my favorite.

Still loving this album. Got such a sad, heavier vibe to it that is just hitting me right in my fall feels.

I just truly don't understand the hate for Schmilco and Star Wars on here. Huge fan of both of those. They both have a scrappy, careless, darker tone that I'm into. I'm also of the ilk that Wilco is 11 for 11, so I'm probably that fanboy boi.

I'm a fan of both Schmilco and Star Wars as well, but I think this album is a cut above their recent work

This album is definitely solid but aside from Love Is Everywhere and One and a Half Stars” I don’t come back to it much.

Checked both Star Wars and Schmilco just before the concert - I wasn't a big fan of the former but I really liked the latter
