it's what survives him
that alone is enough

Just imagine how good this would have been if they really had the chance to finish it.

So my apple music has been doing this weird thing where the order of songs is not the same as what is in my itunes, so all this time I thought Final Transmission was the last song on the album, and I thought it was the perfect ending. Now I find out it's the first haha, this changes everything.

Closing on Final Transmission would have been an incredible idea, especially because it was the last thing Caleb sent the band.

been jamming this a lot lately and I know the songs are more or less demos/unfinished, but this is moving up the ranks towards one of my favorite Cave In albums, like top 3

It¡s pretty fucking good considering the circumstances.

If this had a Sing my Loves, Big Riff or Requiem/Seafrost, this would feel complete to me

All Illusion/Shake My Blood/Winter Window all approach that level for me and I think they would have easily achieved that if they'd kept working on them. I'm curious and excited to hear how these songs translate live and if they will sound any different.

How this is not a 4 at least? The album deserves more.

Is this an acceptable place to start with these guys?

Perfect pitchblack or Jupiter are better starts imo. This is awesome but its circunstances were not optimal.

Cool, I'll try and check one of those + this in time for my end of year roundup!

this is a band I feel is best experienced going chronological, each album is pretty different stylistically (to an extent) while still maintaining a core atmosphere that is distinctly Cave In
|
| |
Yea chronologically is best, especially if you like metalcore

Third for chronological. I’d include Tides of Tomorrow and Planets of Old as well
