Rainbow Coil is pretty cool; glad to see this band go into the full-on industrial noise thing.

this is definitely their worst so far but I like the part where there's just a bunch of gunshots. I can relate to that

Loving the swirling guitars in Burning Myrrh, very Portal-esque for a moment there.

Rainbow Coil is such a sick interlude.

I like trumpeting more at this point but fuck this just keeps unfolding and I keep hearing new shit every time I listen. It’s such a brisk and deceptively dense listen that it’s easy to miss little things.

Nothing here touches the cosmic vein, but armory of obsidian glass sure as fuck comes close

I also love the portal-esque guitars in burning myrrh.

Rainbow coil totally functions as an interlude

Not a fan of the gunshot drums in the transition from coil to aria but they’re both such good jams I can’t be arsed to care

The death metal elements here remind me more of Incantation than anything Portal has done

I think the fully auto shots work well with the "HURTLING VIOLENTLY TOWARDS THE SUN" part in Aria, makes the album flow that much more by reprising another moment

"Rainbow coil totally functions as an interlude"

I guess if you weren't much of a fan of The Body collabs then yea

Then you need to listen to the end of burning myrrh and more portal

They do help it flow, I just generally find it cheesy.

I’ve listened to Portal many times and have listened this album many times now, still not hearing much Portal
