I have no problem imagining people enjoying this.
I loved Are We There so even though I think this is just decent it's not a stretch; who knows, maybe this will grow on me.

I’m just bitter that this is worse than last year’s Eleanor Friedberger and everyone loves this ;D

I should add that no matter how much this grows on me, it will never aspire to the heights of James Blakes' Assume Form .

Rabid - I thought the Friedberger was way more distinct than this but ok

it's quirky but not in a compelling way, imo.
also, that new JB album is the definition of forgettable and tame, if you ask me.

I like it a lot but I'm mainly just trying to trigger Rowbro, who is probably ignoring me right now.

need to spend more time with this but on first listen it's disappointing
and there is at least one song (memorial day) that i outright hated

I definitely agree that this is disappointing. To be fair, Are We There is a tough act to follow, and I give her a ton of credit for not resting in her laurels, but these songs simply aren't that interesting. Outside of "Seventeen" I never found myself fully engaged. The last few tracks are good too...but yeah Memorial Day was pretty bad and then most of the rest was merely average (and Sharon is normally anything but average).
