I've yet to decide but I cant bring myself to rate this the same as USAD so its either that will get a bump up or this will get a bump down.

See I’m having the same conundrum except with WYDS haha. Except I have WYDS at a 5 and I’m just not 100% sure if I like this one as much, hence why this is still sitting at a 4.5

I may bump USAD tbh cause I really do love it. This and WYDS are about on par with one another imo.
EDIT: ah hell I'm bumping USAD to a 5

Atta boy
I have too much nostalgia for WYDS for it to even be fair. First CD I bought (didn’t start collecting til I was like 16) and it was the soundtrack to my junior and senior year of high school. At the same time, USAD never clicked with me for some reason so I never grew to appreciate it until a couple years ago. I’ve honestly spun through WYDS in its entirety well over 300 times (back in 2014 I already had about 250 plays on it according to my iTunes so I’m sure I’m well above that by now). I pretty much just wanna wait and make sure this album stands the test of time for me too
Though I’m sure I’ll probably decide to or not to bump by next week lol

I feel ya Wonder, WYDS was the first pop-punk album I ever loved, so it likely won't be beat

USAD was my first from these guys. I got into pop punk through The Used and Senses Fail though, they were my first pop punk bands I really loved. Both notably have that post hardcore edge so it's no surprise that would later become my favorite genre.

USAD has aged like milk, the lyrics are super slut shamey and terrible

I'd admit Daughters goes a bit too far as well as a few lines in Mt. Diablo. Though those moments are easily overlooked.

never gave a shit about those lyrics and never will. It's a teenage dude essentially being mad that a girl left him and hooked up with other guys. conflating that with straight up slut-shaming is laughable

totally. and what's funny(?) is we've all thought the exact same thing that Parker sings in those instances—hence why we enjoyed/related to that record. our 17 year old selves have also aged like milk. but now, like Parker, we're older—and realize that WE'RE our own problem, not women. we're all sad bois.
Edit — Ah ButtBoy you beat me to it.

I could definitely agree with both of you guys there, I'm indifferent to the lyrics to be honest those two tracks are the weakest for me anyhow.

There’s only one slut shamey song on USAD tbh and it’s still a banger so fuck it.

I've seen them a couple times, and will see them in November. Stoked to see how these songs translate live. This is their best by far

if this is your first TSSF album it'll be really hard to convince you that USAD is their best, this is vastly more mature and textured and varied and wait maybe this is their best? The Glass is still their best song though
