I like CHVRCHES quite a bit, but this album really lacked great backing music. Mayberry isn't quite "Adele" enough to carry an album on her own; she has a sweet voice but not showstopping one. It only works when the band helps her along and the music on this just seems flat to me.

This has some very catchy songs (wonderland, graffiti, forever), but Miracle is an automatic -2 for me. One of the cringiest songs I've heard ever. A lot of the other songs on here are just generic and uninteresting.

It’s like they realized we just like them for their ability to write fairly shallow but dazzlingly glitzy pop jams and they are bitterly depriving us of that while trying to show that they can be ruminative but still shallow
