Starting second half. How can I say this... I am not surprised. it's good, really good, but not brilliant, I haven't been floored yet.

Blushful that's by far the best song/best moment on the album imo

First listen to the new one left me somewhat underwhelmed, but further listens are changing that entirely. It's really, really good, although definitely an album that takes time to sink in and digest.

Shadowboxing, Sour Breath, Hurt Less and Even are current favourites. Appointments, Turn Out the Lights and Happy to be Here are songs I overplayed before the album's release, so I'm cooling down with those.
The second verse on Sour Breath is immaculate. "But I shouldn't have built a house in the middle of your chest / Plywood boards joined at your breast". And obviously, it's refrain.
The harder I swim the faster I sink

I love Sour Breath but absolutely detest that absurdly over processed wail that closes out the song, it is so artificial and also just sounds bad to me

The closer is amazing.

I'll refrain from rating it, but I love it - a lot. It is a lot different to Sprained Ankle, in precisely the way Lucid mentioned. But I do think while the album was, obviously, recorded with a wide audience in mind, the songs themselves don't at all sound as though they were written as such (for the most part, that is). Its thematic stitching seems as genuine as Sprained Ankle's did. Of course, part of that stitching is indeed something evidently communal, and she intentionally lets the audience in on her pain in a way that was at least partially unintentional on the last album. What's lost in this "intimacy", however, is replaced with... I don't know, I suppose a greater level of deliberation; its progression is better thought out and a lot more intentional. And there's something beautiful in that. A self-awareness that is perhaps frustrating (and to an extent undermines what Sprained Ankle was, which I do empathise with), but also kind of perfect. I think it's a little bit perfect.

I agree 100% and I think it was way better than this just as I expected it was more up my alley
