Jt get on Bestia Arcana, Wode, Ungfell, Pillorian, Ragana, Sojourner, Enisum, Violet Cold, and Nokturnal Mortum.
Falls of Rauros is boring, but the others you mentioned rule.

It's like this guy never runs out of fucking ideas. Probably one of the most consistent within the German scene (which has unfortunately grown a bit stale as of late).

"It's like this guy never runs out of fucking ideas. Probably one of the most consistent within the German scene (which has unfortunately grown a bit stale as of late). "
true, although the german bm scene was never an oustanding one (especially in regard to the scandinavian scenes etc.) always some good stuff but also a lot of mediocre releases.
|
| |
yeah Idk about that, you always have a lot of mediocre releases - they're just way more in the open now with the digitalization of music in comparison to the height of the Scandinavian scene plus the Scandinavian scene was instrumental in the formation of BM so that's kind of a lopsided comparison.
It also depends on what you're looking for, Germany's always had some innovative bands on its roster - Nagelfar, Nocte Obducta, Ruins of Beverast, Lunar Aurora, Moonblood, Aaskereia, Brocken Moon, ColdWorld, Bethlehem, Verdunkeln etc.

Nagelfar split up, Lunar Aurora split up, Moonblood split up.
No releases in the last 5 years: Verdunkeln, Brocken Moon, Aaskereia.
nah,of course there was and still is good german bm out there. but the amount of mediocre "0815 bm" releases with know own identity is pretty high imo. ( though tbf my perception maybe a bit warped because I am currently pissed of by the scene here in germany.)

Oh yeah for sure, I was talking about the German scene in its entirety - not necessarily what it is looking like now - where I agree it seems kind of lackluster.
I can't say I'm pissed off, I'm just somewhat disappointed because it seems for now a lot of the scene has lost its "magic" - I remember when I got into metal, which started with BM for me about 10 years ago and it was a unique experience. Now I'm a picky cynical bastard.

Don't forget Horn, one of the best german BM bands. They released an album this year which was only okay-ish, but their first three albums are amazing.

"Turm am Hang" has actually grown on me (and it is better than "Feldpost") but yeah Die Kraft der Szenarien und Naturkraft are his best releases.

aw man I gotta re-listen. So much stuff in my rotation over the years.
