The more I listen to this the less I like it

The production is really flat even though they recorded the songs live, especially compared to how huge Throw Me in The River sounded

idk bruv are we really gonna get into genre feuds
maybe pop punk is better, but his voice was whiny as fuck from what i heard and it just sounded like some iteration of emo

Laid out in the sun and spun this album about 5 times today. I think I might like this more than 'Throw Me in the River' and I love that CD. Great review, great album.

Wil's doing an AMA right now if anyone's interested:

It was a beautiful day and finally getting to hear this album made it that much better. Also just read through some of the AMA, cool stuff.

It's weird that this sounds like every emo record to you considering it's not an emo record

"Haha... I don't wanna go into a huge amount of detail on this one because I don't like publicly shaming people and I'll be the first to say that I'm not a perfect partner. But we dated for maybe 2 years and our relationship started, middled and ended badly and she's responsible for a lot of pain in my life and hence a lot of the pain on the record. She's very talented but can also be very cruel."

ahahah damn dude

Yeah, hope this Georgia stuff doesn't get blown out of proportion, but I'm sure he expected this, haha.

well one thing you know about wil is that he's never really lying. Like he says he's not the perfect partner, probably suffers under some victim complex and anger issues or whatever like the rest of us.

but those are the words of a dude who got majorly fucked over by abuse or cheating or a combination of them all. cruel is a real strong word

in any case people are different in relationships and pull all sorts of fucked up shit to each other, so yeah nah hopefully it doesn't turn into vitriol for her and her bands just because she's a shit person in a different context

(the inner lil bitch in me loves the fresh gos tho)

yesssss the goss; if tabloids reported on the musicians i like i still wouldnt buy em but id prolly rack em off shelves or unblock the daily mail on fb

but anyway, chatter about relationships or how not nice a person was in the context of a relationship should be private becuz it has the potential to be unduly damaging. hence i dont think wil shoulda answered that AMA question, but here we are, so i just hope this doesnt lead to any shit, esp. when georgia and camp cope stand for such great things and i dont doubt the existence of petty bigots who'd look for any excuse to undermine them.

"i dont think wil shoulda answered that AMA question"

Neither, I think his need to be so open with his fans has been harmful at least in some part to the perception of the band. I've seen a lot of unfair attacks on the characters of the band members, I just hope the same isn't done to Camp Cope, especially given they -- and Georgia in particular -- have only really just started to gain this momentum.

i love wil as much as the next guy (probably more actually) and appreciate his dedication to honesty and being open with fans but yeah he really should have kept that one to himself
