They did a pretty good job of covering the absolute classic tune 'August & September' by The The so they are alright by me

"Elbow is Coldplay for dads"

except that Coldplay is Coldplay for dads and Eblow is just music for people with ears

What are 'plummy vocals?'

I like this band. Hope this is good.

Some of the first few tracks have been stuck in my head all day. I'm not happy about it either. Big Cat and Tough Guy especially annoy me.

That 'be a house cat...are you ok with that?' line does get stuck in my noggin a bit too much at times

This is a Freudian slip

My slipper my slipper my slipper my slipper in your bits

A lot of competition now, 'Loop the Loop' would be up there, and the closer from Smother I can't recall the name of right now is a classic

'Don't you think people are the strangest things...I've made enough enemies...forget now, how many must I forget...regret now, how many do I regret...'

In 2011 split with my girlfriend of three years and had one final bust up with one of my best mates in the space of three months - that song was one that resonated at the time

The sound of wishing people you had to rid yourself of the genuine best but praying you don't go through that same bullshit ever again

I personally really enjoyed this. I agree that the vocal interplay is a bit lacking, but WB still how to create unique tunes. That cascading synth in Celestial Creatures makes that song, and the cheeky lyrics of Alpha Female and the processed vocal loop on Ponytail are highlights for me.
