Prompted by an intended label re-release of Catch-22's seminal debut 'Keasbey Nights', New Jersey ska punk ensemble Streetlight Manifesto decide to re-record the album instead. With front-man Tomas Kalnoky helming both versions, one does have to wonder how necessary this release was, yet the quality of the source material is beyond reproach. The tracks are mostly kept as per the original renditions, although there have been some changes to lyrics & musical arrangements. More pertinent is the clearer production & vocals which will be a pro for some & a con for others. Recommended Tracks: Keasbey Nights, Hey Sergio, Kristina She Don't Know I Exist & Day In Day Out.

original destroys this in every way imo
this was a passionless, overproduced and all around pointless endeavor if you ask me

yeah just avoid it man the vocals sound awful and the drum sound is like sandpaper

It's funny to me how the re-recorded this to give it better sound quality and yet it sounds much worse. Terribly mastered, and there's very bad clipping making it distort.

One of the few occasions where the re-recording is better than the original.

I still think that this was largely unnecessary, but the bass on Walking Away is always ace, and the Saxophone solo on "This One Goes Out To..." is worth the price of admission alone.
Keasbey Nights will always be special to me though.
