since this has been making the rounds again

any boring sourpusses who cant get into the yodeling on this one may find black unity a more palatable album

Listen to this and Witchi-tai-to by Jan Garbarek, 'Desireless' in particular.

Yodeling more like yeahdeling

Yeayeayeayeayeayeayeaaaah yeahyeahh

Black Unity’s great too, but it’s palette is a lot harsher on the free jazz than this one was, so I might say Tauhid’s the better alternative

Prob not the right word, yeah

But it's a lot more freewheeling, where even with the yodeling maybe puttin' some people off, this has a lot more feet-on-the-ground melodic moments, where Black Unity is a BIG OL' VORTEX with TWO FUCKING BASSES HELL YEAH

Colors gets over shadowed (how could it not, sitting next to Creator?) but it’s super sweet in its own right

the anxiety-ridden screamy section at the midpoint of Creator was pretty disorienting but then again i'm not all too familiar with that sort of free jazz yet. just about everything else was ripe with very spiritchal melodies and flourishes and free-ish goodness

very much a late-night "that" kind of mood album. can feel this one hittin hard at the right time

So much coded reefer language in one post!

(Mmmm it's that part of the night)

And lmao disorienting indeed. Just love music that makes me feel all dizzy and overloaded and teeny < 3

Jewels of Thought scans a lot like a harsher sister to this album (although I’m sure Leon Thomas being on it is a big part of why I feel that way)
