Man this album is magnificent. Love the great balance between pure heaviness and the more proggish moments. Such a consistent band its almost frightening

@Wizard:Well it was the same here until I heard Riitiir, and at the moment I'm actually caught between the two. I loved Axioma for its general atmosphere, but I like Riitiir just as much for its consistency and progression. But I guess in the future it may well change.

@Dimor: Yeah the balances between the two are constantly clear and precise, which is indeed something else that Enslaved excel.

I mean for f*** sake, what doesn't this band do well?

I prefer to not be that kind of reviewer if I'm honest. I'm really just gonna carry on reviewing albums regardless of whether people have heard of them or not.

Commendable. You and CaptainDooRight need to keep up the good work. You might not get any sexy roadies from it, but I will give you the complementary head nod now and again.

Yeah, cheers for that. I don't expect anything when I'm posting reviews on here other than feedback. That's why i write reviews-for good practice.

Is it just me or the last song has some Neurosis influences?

Album sounds good.

I can see what you mean there Dreamflight. The last song does indeed have a lot in its 11 minutes of running time. The last couple of minutes in particular end the album on an ambient yet eerie note.

I read the Track-by-Track explanation from Enslaved, and they said that the last song on this album, 'Forsaken', actually has a few Punk Rock influences in it. They actually said The Ramones and The Stooges were influential in Enslaved's songwriting...

That's it man. Don't know about the punk rock part but that eerie ambience really reminded me of TEOES.

I liked the album, it's a high 3. I still hate the vocals but the instruments are good, especially the guitar solos.

The cleans are kinda lifeless and repetitive.
