Some of this was painful to listen to, if I remember it correctly. And I thought that the vocals didn't fit very well with the Alcest-y guitars.

Just sounds like a Drudkh album (somewhat of a mash-up of their Autumn Aurora to Estrangement era sound). Despite what they're "capable of", it's a very good album.
