Eh, I have Saturate at a 2.5. It's a decent effort for a debut, but only a few songs really jump out at me from it. My favorites from it are Polyamorous and Skin, a few others are decent/good, but I don't care for the album too much, I wouldn't have given it a lot of time if it wasn't BB. (I got into WANA and Phobia before listening to Saturate)

Ben's vocals are lacking for the most part. Musically there are some good things. Like the intro to Phase is one of the best things they've done, just the rest of the song is lacking. It's not horrible, but it wouldn't have made me a fan if that was the only album I'd heard by them.

I don't care about BB these days. I used to like them a lot but since I got into better music they're just not doing it for me now.

Who does it for you now, grandma roflmao so clever

@TiesThatBind

Dude, try 10 Years' Autumn effect as soon as possible, great alt rock album. Haven't tried their sophomore yet

Been meaning to get to listening to that album, from what I've heard of 10 Years, I think I'll like them better than Chevelle.

Oh, I serioulsy like Phase xD

For a debut album, i think Saturate is great, I mean it's better than most debuts I've heard. Of course the voice is not so good... but we all know how Ben has improved a lot .

"It's just a fuckin' phase !"

I like polyamorous, skin, wish i may, water, next to nothing, no games, phase. Those are the ones that i really like xD

Breaking Benjamin is definitely better than 10 years who sound exactly like every other radio rock band out there. Pseudo metal chugs coupled with the same generic choruses. At least BB writes some good riffs

Yeah, Indomitable, I didn't figure them to be better than BB, but I've gotten a few comments on how I need to hear them based on my taste. So I'll at least give them a shot.

@DarkShowstopper: The debut showed potential, I'll say that. I just find that there's only a few songs on there that I go back to, most are forgettable for the most part aside from the intros. Although, even though I'm not typically a fan of screaming, I quite like the chorus of Sugarcoat. And Believe on WANA as well.

Yeah, Sugarcoat was great. I also forgot about Shallow Bay and Home.

Shallow Bay was pretty good, Home was decent. I just don't find myself going back to very many of those songs.

You could only be talking about Division. The Autumn Effect isn't standard alt-rock at all. (Even then I think you're only talking about the singles)

But just to make it back on topic about BB. I really thought Phobia had a bit too much filler. WANA is my favourite.

Tiesthatbind: I would just add Break My Fall (I don't why, but I love that song) and Forget It. My number one is So Cold. Or maybe away. I can't decide between those two LOL

Powerban: One of the only complaints I have against Phobia is the ending. I serioulsy don't think an acoustic version of Diary of Jane should end that. In my opinion there is a huge imbalance between the begining (Intro) which perfectly brought the mistery and darkness atmosphere they wanted to give, and that acoustic that of dark ou mysterious has absolutely nothing. I don't even like his vocals there, seem so out of the context of the song.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the acoustic DoJ either. From Phobia my favorites are

Diary of Jane, Breath, Evil Angel, Until the End (my #1 favorite of the album and 2nd overall favorite BB song), and Dance With the Devil. Unknown Soldiier and Had Enough are pretty good too, it's a really solid album really.

What are your favs from Phobia?

Well, I love Phobia you know xD

So, hum...

I'll say my favorite is Breath and my least favorites are Here We Are and the acoustic DoJ. The rest of the tracks are awesome, but saying there are favorites is unfair. It really depends a lot on my mood xD

Yeah, that's pretty much the same for me. I even like Topless sometimes, even though the lyrics are pretty dumb, that riff is sweet.

I don't know if that lyric is that dumb... seems ike having some kind of message, I just couldn't understand yet...

And the riff, I like it a lot :DD

It might, it's just pretty sloppy lyric-writing compared to the rest of the album. It would've fit on Saturate fine, but it was a regression considering lyrics had been improving with each album.

The overall heaviness and pace of the track is a good contrast to most of the rest of the album though, so I like it for that. Really, just about any song I don't like by BB usually has some redeeming factor that I can appreciate.

"Fruit on the vine. You've got yours and I've got mine."

He means something with this. I hate when I can't understand something in a lyric or in poetry. It's always something in my head --'

And I don't know why, but there ain't one BB song I completly dislike xD The one I can say I least like is Natural Life or LadyBug. But even those are listenable xDD

Yeah, most songs on Saturate had good intros or somewhat entertaining instrumental breaks. They had some good ideas, but not the focus, which is of course understandable given that it was their debut.

You gonna review anything, DarkShowstopper?
