Ah yes, I remember now. Luckily for you someone just removed the prog metal tag, so there's just the prog rock one now...

Perhaps one day!

'I think they mainly incorporated elements of the genre here and mixed them with rock and alternative elements.'

'Maybe you were just expecting 'more' trip hop when, for fans, it was a huge musical change and quite an infusion of elctronics and trip-hop.'

You're (both) probably right, from my perspective I was like 'OMG YES TRIP-HOP PLEASE' yet if I was coming at this from an alt/rock background my expectations and likely appreciation of the end result would've been quite different.

'I'll have to kill myself if I ever get above 20% prog in my sput genre chat, won't I'

I just want to let it be known that this is STILL the dumbest thing ever and nothing bad will happen if prog gets into your pie.

[2] everything Trif and Willie said. This is why I said this would be a weird starting point, but you couldn't fight off that Portishead craving ;]

TG in general aren't a very flourish-y band and go for simple innovations wrapped around warm vocals, so I guess that much of your take makes some sense

That IS an interesting take, Johnny. I think the weakest is probably Monsters, though that is still a 4/5 kind of tune.
