What makes these guys' music so good? The riffs are super tight and technical, the songwriting is on point, the snail motifs are brilliant.. but they've got to have something else too for being this popular

Fuckin' riff gods. The vocals don't get much love but they slay too.

I got this on vinyl for Christmas from my right-leaning / christian-because-they're-too-scared-not-to-be side of the family, which I found funny AF.

"Hey guyman, throw that new one you got on the record player over there"

I really hope Guyman is your legal name, but good call on holding off on the jam. Unrelated(ish) but I got a surprise Oddworld New 'n' Tasty Vinyl in a frame that I adore! My first Vinyl

It s all about the writing and how the moments are created, with these guys

@xfing

There s also a really awesome balance between an esoteric/spiritual feeling and death metal. The slugs motif is also a social/political metaphor, which is fun, but at the same time serious(?)

In other words, this slays all around.

If you listen close you can hear where the producer cut and pasted the opening riff to war squid about 8 times over.

Production is a bit rough here yeah and the whole clipping thing is really annoying if you pay attention to it (damn you Hyperion)

Yes prod is too loud but this sudden wave of 4s is way more annoying XD with that we also all agree.
