If Lou had actually emoted or even straight-up sang while doing his poetry it could've been at least listenable. But instead he just does that monotone, lifeless ramblin' grandpa thing for ten minutes each song. I mean, I think in the live vids for Iced Honey he DOES use some emotion in his voice, which just makes the whole thing more aggravating because it makes you realize the whole thing was fully able to be less aggravating, but they refused to make it so. :/

" he just does that monotone, lifeless ramblin' grandpa thing for ten minutes each song."
Yep, this kills it. The grandpa rambling doesnt even match the riffs, it sounds like an audiobook randomly playing in the background of a hard rock album.

doesnt even match the riffs, shame on him

People complaining about Lou's spoken word being monotone don't seem to realize that he's been doing it like that for decades before Lulu was even a thing.

This.
I'm getting a Lulu vibe from Josh Homme's new project with Iggy Pop. Their styles just don't work with the sounds behind them.
