Didn't had much interest in jamming to this, but its very solid, like every song is a pleasant listen with great hooks and instrumentalization. You can really feel they are trying their best here to make a good balance of old and new Ryche, it actually reminded me of Promised Land at times with the dark, proggy vibes.

Yeah I agree, Lost In Sorrow would’ve been a great choice for a video. Also, Realms an underrated song here boys?

This record owns. A few more listens (currently playing here at work right now) really has me liking this entire record except that one song. ;)

So yes, this gets my "best of the new era" vote, at least for now!

Realms is excellent, btw.

@blade yeah DeGarmo and Wilton are my favorite guitarist ever. I think of them as one, or equally important I guess. I own a custom guitar that is meant to emulate Chris' white ESP from the Empire era, myself.

Color me completely jealous! I would settle for just a plain white M-II custom from that era, but it's tough to find one that is both affordable and doesn't have a trashed floyd rose. I will have to stick with my Charvel DK-24s for now!

I'm lucky to have some lifelong buddies that grew up to be luthiers.

Also, I've decided this is the gem of this era. Fucking love this thing.

I've passed the must-jam-everyday phase but I still love this, still convinced it's my peaktodd. One of my 2022 favs actually, though not necessarily incredibly high in the list. Gonna be back to praise some songs soon.

For now let me give a reminder that the silly Rebel Yell cover is rightfully just a bonus track (though Spotify doesn't say it). I don't consider it for rating the album in this case.

Oh and Grillo has so many excellent parts and fills here. I focused on the ones that bothered me at first but now I see past them

I really like the Rebel Yell cover. And yes, a bonus track indeed.

Where everybody at?

The run of Lost In Sorrow through Out of the Black is classic Queensryche level. They’ve done a great job on their last 2 records.

Caught them with priest a few weeks ago.

Honestly...there was a weird vibe to me. Only two of the crew left, and even if Stone doesn't deserve it, I think they lost something when Parker left. Kind of weird setlist. Surprisingly, Behind the Walls hit the hardest besides The Needle Lies. I think I like them headlining in smaller venues at this point, more than supporting the heavy hitters.

There might be something to that last part, but I don't think they're directionless necessarily. If this is the kind of output we get, I'm absolutely fine with Todd-ryche for the foreseeable future.

I would like to see them on tour where they play majority of the set with songs from their last 4 albums. Throw in a few classics for an encore, and that’s a good night.

I notice that the majority of their set lists have been that of the classic era.

oh dang, guess I'll finally get to catch Marty live.

Also - agree with wishing they would play a set full of new stuff. But holy fuck would the crowd be unhappy about that.

Yes sir! I’ll be there on April 16th, which also happens to be my birthday. Should be a good night!

Also, the video for Sicdeth is fucking awesome…
