this album sucks

I don't know what's worse here, Winston's vocals or the awful leads.

Only deaf people can fully enjoy this album, what happened to their production side on their last 2 albums?!

Thing that pisses me off is this will be a succses for the band it wont be a case of "Guess we really fucked that up, time to reasses". Hell maybe Architects and Parkway are having a competition to see who can alienate their old fans the most. Also another side piss off is Parkway have ignored their own home country of Australia a lot

You have a narrow view of what success is Ectier. Just because, Sputnik, a generally a gatekeeper-y music site doesn't like this record, doesn't mean it shouldn't be successful. I'm sorry bands change and evolve too, that also seems to be something that pervades you.
It's also funny to see all this love for earlier parkway randomly. I was here during the Deep Blue era. It wasn't cool to like Parkway then either. During the Atlas album release, people complained about their sound getting stale. They changed their sound and now all of the sudden people love the old stuff. All I can say are people are fickle.

I was just meaning they will always be fawned over and never really recieve or take critisicim on board was all i meant. Bands changing isnt something that turns me off its just the way they have gone about this change is what puts me off
Edit: I get why Architects are going the direction they are going, Tom was their main song writer. Josh is just there to play tracks itd seem.

Fair enough.
I don't love this new record either, the first two singles are particular weak songs in my opinion, but I have a hard time believing this is a 1/5. I'd understand someone giving a 1/5 rating to me if I recorded myself trying to learn the bagpipes and then released that on cassette. This at least has competent musicianship, songwriting, and production. All these 1/5's just smell like classic mainstream music hate to me.

Personally I'm enjoying the new Architects Direction. Their latest single (3rd) is a banger in my opinion. I also liked the first single too.
Josh actually is very active in the songwriting process. He's probably the biggest factor in their change of sound. Personally I see some significant parallels in the streamlined approach to new Sylosis and Architects.

A bit later i may give this another run but unsure atm based on how much i disliked it. Its just they have gone about this in a very strange way and somewhat uninspired way. They have some good ideas in parts (Chronos from last record) but it never fully works out. Also with Winstons vocals i wish they would pick one new approach and nail it rather than this weird mash up.

I get you. If you really didn't like it, it's probably not worth your time. There is enough good music out there to need to look back at stuff you likely won't love.

Yeah, this is pretty bad but also really funny at the same time. I must admit that I did quite enjoy some of the guitar work though.

Also, way too much of this sounds like Bodies by Drowning Pool

Nearly made it all the way through If a God Can Bleed before I had to close the tab in panic. What the fuck was that even.

Damn, I was one of the ones that still really enjoyed the Reverence/Ire era while acknowledging it was pretty poppy. But there is way too much cringe on this record.
"Drop the beat!"
And so much Wah.

"Nearly made it all the way through If a God Can Bleed before I had to close the tab in panic. What the fuck was that even."
Winston with the best Rob Zombie impression he could give.
Soul bleach is the only somewhat fun song here.
