OK, we diving in now.
Apparently I heard their debut at some point and it got a 3.5, so I expect some nice chonky riffs.

Listening to this now, just a few track in so far. Honestly each song sounds like the band and vocalist are performing two separate songs at the same time

one of those bloc sentences, where you don't if it is a compliment or not...

This just feels like some solid Deftcore
Not bad, but it's not wowing me.

It was not a compliment, but I noticed after a few songs things started to mesh a little better.
The album length is a fuckin joke though

This really isn't bad. But it also has absolutely no business being a double album, not even close to having enough ideas to justify it.
There's a decent 3.5 Deftcore album in here somewhere
I might bump this down actually lol

That’s fair. Maybe it’ll grow on you. That’s what happened to me. Either way, I’m glad ya’ll checked it out!

Because teal is a neat color, I might check again. I remember the second half trying some different stuff that I wish they did more of.
Like I said, nit necessarily a bad album, but one that should've absolutely been condensed.

Massive record! Been jamming it for weeks now.

Hell yeah, 9Hammer. Favorite song? Mine's probably "Invisible Shine" or "Away Stars" right now.

Ah for me, it's "End With Me", "Low Choices" and "Phantom Pain". That's probably bound to change since it's quite a dense record sonically speaking. Probably why the length seems tolerable for me.

I like EOTW

I still listen to this all the time, it’s excellent.
I can totally see why people who don’t know the band won’t put in the time for it to grow though, it’s a big ask for an underground band to make of their listeners!
Even Kendrick Lamar had a bunch of people write off his double album this year even though it’s also excellent, because few people want to put in the time for one artist/band nowadays with so much out there to check out!

Loool haven t managed to check this out bc of its lenght

If they trimmed this down, it would be much better.
There's just not enough variety for it to justify its length. Always appreciate the ambition, but with so few ideas at play, it ain't worth it.

I'm currently listening to this album for the first time now (i heard only one or two tracks the day it came out), and halfway through this is a solid af album! Inexerol seems like my favorite track so far.
The only issue I have with it is that I think that 24 tracks is too much EVEN if it's solid all the way through. I would rather have had them release it as two separate albums with at least a few weeks/months apart, or actually just releasing two albums on the same day but with different album art and not in the same release on streaming services.
Also, despite being said to be solid all the way through (I believe it, even if I haven't heard the "second album" yet), if they had managed to just consolidate all their best ideas into 12 albums this would for SURE be a 5/5, but at this point I think I'd be hard-pressed to give it that. We'll see.

Yeah, this is solid. Obviously a talented group of dudes. But it’s nothing new or exciting. Deftones worship to the highest degree and when that’s all you have going for you on a 24 track, nearly 2 hr album it turns into a snooze-fest. Just pick the 10 best tracks and go with that. There’s absolutely no justification for it to be this long when hardly anything changes.
