Waves is up there with those bad cleans, but Jungle is just atrocious.

After jamming it a few times more, agreed with the general consensus that it loses steam in the middle after feeling like a repeat of songs. White Nile is so good tho, absolutely love that one

Didn't expect much from this but yeah agreed White Nile is still absolute gas.

Couple fun parts mixed in though. Narrative is pretty decent.

Narrative, like I stated in the review, is the best and it gives me Regenerate vibes from The Discovery.

It shows BOO can write stuff we truly want to hear again, but decides to go in a different direction.

Note: Was thinking of changing my rating, but going to keep my 3.3/5. Think it's a fair score and my opinion after multiple listens hasn't changed. High highs, low lows.

"The Simulation sounded like they were heading in a better direction, but this sounds like their Tomorrow We Die ∆live/SS days."

Agreed 100%, this sounds very akin to Soul Sphere in particulous imo

I do like the guitar solos on this, they've always done those well no matter if it was Jason or Lee.

I just do not like Joe's vocals at all. The back and forth him and Ronnie do is tiresome and really detracts from a lot of their songs. One thing I did like about this album, that they haven't done in previous albums, is let the songs breathe a little. What I mean by this is they let the music speak for itself in some areas instead of throwing vocals over the entire song.

It's a decent album, but nothing special. There are a couple standout tracks, but some tracks feel like a chore to listen to.

I think Joe is the best part of the band lol. Both keys and vocals

Yea Joe is awesome. He adds a much needed contrast to Ronnie's vocals.

His "wail" can be a bit much at times, but yeah he's probably the MVP of the band at this point, which isn't a high bar tbh. Glad he comes up with some interesting lines and sounds instead of just throwing on some synth orchestra patch and following the rhythm.

Joe and Ronnie work great off of eachother fosho.

This definitely has a fair amount of jams, still a strong 3.3 for me

It's just sad seeing anything post Discovery these guys make.

It's just mediocre

After some time since release, I've lowered this to a 3.2, dropping it to 3/5 on here. It's not sticking with me as much as I wanted it to.
