I agree, but I'm honestly pleasantly surprise an emo record by some nobody Midwestern bois could get on trending for a spell, especially among stiff competition
But hey, so long as this thread is getting bumped I'll be here to spread the good word

Yo Jesper, thanks for the rec on the Movements thread. I'm a few songs into this already and really like the vibe of it!

Stumbled across this on Spotify today and went straight to Sputnik to check if there was a Mars review: was not disappointed, will be sure to read this when I get the time.
So far, not a fan of the lyrics, but their delivery is so fantastic, and the album strikes the perfect balance between huge and intimate. Not to say they sound the same, but this gives me the same feeling as some darker Sorority Noise songs do.

Appreciate it Blush, glad to hear you like it!
And yeah, the comparison is applicable for sure. My only contention was to what extent it makes sense, as I don't think they are super similar, but they are alike.

Definitely the best emo album I've heard in a bit. How's their other one?

Awesome stuff my man.
Their debut is more into the pop punk vibes and doesn't quite have the same flow, but it still has a very similar vibe to it and some great highlights. Drips with nostalgia in a good way. Still not very punky insofar as Knapsack are.

One of the best reviews I've read from you, very, very nice. Think some of your expression is a bit too long-winded, but given that your style is pretty much thoughtful, long-winded ramble, that's probably okay.

There's a lot to love here but I find myself wishing the band made for some bigger hooks to build all those dynamics into, as I find a lot of the songs passing by a bit forgettably. But it might just need a few more spins.
That said, I adore the intro. That huge tom beat is so, so hype, and it builds magnificently.

Their debut has more hooks to it. I think their adherence to an atmospheric avenue discouraged them for using too many here and they usually let the instrumentation do the talking.
