Also, so far I'm not finding this to be "generic female dream pop" as some are saying here, this has a much larger scope and is a bit more "guitar music" than most recent dream-pop I've heard

This is pretty good, especially the first songs. I lost a bit of attention in the second half

"this has a much larger scope and is a bit more "guitar music" than most recent dream-pop I've heard"

the great question of our times: do extra guitars make generic dream pop generic not-dream pop, or do they make it generic dream pop with guitars? gonna jam this again in search of answers.

so I kinda like this overall but it feels like an overlong EP rather than a convincing full-length; think it would have been a stronger statement if it had been trimmed to half its length and presented as an introductory EP. some tracks (bookends + Born Again in particular) are q convincing, some are a little phoned in in their use of guitars (Into the Trees, big time) and the lyrics have that really grating duality of personal content but language so bland and cliched that it could have come from anyone - and they're unfortunately focal to a lot of tracks. definitely think she has potential; I'll be paying attention to whatever she does next...

I agree that every track isn't phenomenal (I softened my rating on this by a half star), but I don't think the guitar usage on Into the Trees is phoned in at all, it's actually one of my favorite moments here. The overall atmosphere is more impressive than the individual parts that make it up.
