my life would be validated if i could just read the fucking lyrics to Kandu vs. Corky (Horrorca), it's killing me. also, this fucking rules and i no longer hate the song lengths. strong 4.5.

"In this case, Driver is paired with the violinist of Kayo Dot, Mia, and to simplify the explanation, Driver is creating sound using his vocal chords, and Mia is manipulating Driver's mouth, and in turn the "lyrics" of the song, with her own. "
First off, whoa, just when I thought he couldn't get any weirder. Second off, holy shit, that lucky bastard. She could manipulate my mouth anytime :P

Excellent review. Very Informative. Everything Toby Driver does is incredible. MotW, Kayo Dot and Mr. Driver's solo output are some of the best material to be released in the last 10 years.

Kandu Vs. Corky is terrifying, and might be the greatest thing Toby's ever recorded.
I wish I liked the rest of the album as much. Brown Light Upon Us especially is boring as shit.

Terrifying enough for redundancy, apparently.

i find it hard to justify calling this music. great atmospheres. more rich atmosphere than perhaps anything ive heard. but... its not really music. and after my first, enveloping experience, i know im going to have no reason to ever listen to this again. its a one time experience. theres no melodic or enjoyable qualities that make it worth revisiting.
