dunno about "5 stars" for this soundtrack but I did like this game a lot. very scary. "fermata" song is great.

As a companion piece, I don't know how to NOT 5 it, but without any context, I definitely agree. I could never detach this from the experiences I had with the game, so I'll never be able to really judge it objectively.

like I have to at least somewhat object as a Nerdcrusher when the top 5 ambient albums straight-up on rateyourmusic are Low, blade runner, SH2, minecraft, and akira
doesnt rly matter tho.
maybe ill hit this again as an album, speak from experience next time
but yeah great game really hits the spot

This OST works perfectly fine without the context of the game tbh. Just all around one of the greatest soundtracks ever composed

Abso-fucking-lutely.
It sounds great on vinyl, if you ever look into it.

I've been leaning back and forth if I wanted the vinyl of the OST or not, since I already have the CD from forever ago. I think it would be cool to have, at least.

Yeah, it's pretty nice on vinyl. i'm looking forward to sh4 getting a wax release. i think that's this year.
i'm always torn between this and sh4 for which is better, but in truth, they are equally seminal for different reasons.

Recently replayed SH3 for the first time in 5-6 years and was genuinely surprised at how nicely that game has aged.

It's pretty damn beautiful, honestly - they did a fantastic job upscaling it, runs smooth as butter.

those guys are heroes.
It's crazy that a series that hasn't had a decent entry in more than 15 years still has such a dedicated fanbase.

I seem to be in the small minority that the 3 soundtrack is the best of Yamaoka's SH run, but this one is obviously a damn masterpiece, along with one and four.
Homecoming's OST is nothing to sneeze at either, but a little less consistently great.

3 is fucking amazing, and 4 has some crazy shit, too... 1 is still my personal favorite, even if it's a little more dated than the others. Maybe it's because of it.

Konami is wasting this franchise. The rumors of new games better be true. I can't take more heartbreak.

RIP Silent Hills. Potentially could have been the greatest horror game of all time.
Regardless, this is the most perfect OST ever made. Found a physical copy and I'm so stoked to jam it in my car
