I wonder why I wasn't hyped more about a new Alcest. It's like coming home.

Well written review, but I respectfully disagree. Hope it grows on you because it deserves better than being designated as an average album, imo.

Still weighing how I feel about this one versus Alcest's other albums, I like it a lot though

I don't understand. It was supposed to be beautiful. I thought all of the damage that was caused, would be undone. A whole new world would be born.

I like your review. Personally, I'm still undecided. My favorite Alcest album is "Shelter", but there's something about this one that makes it so I can't decide...

Wonder what that could be Trey, because while the music is essentially the same as everything else they've done there's a lot of substance missing here.

weird argument, this has more substance than shelter imo

This is as straight up metal they have ever done. There are actual riffs. This could be my second favorite drumming record behind Wavering Radiant. No lie.

“Brother please review the new alcest album”
So we have you to thank for the polarity teamster. Well done

Totally know what you mean there, teamster. The drums hit like thunder. That snare, MAN.

Thanks for the review Nocte. Well written as usual. I can see your points. Those that hoped for the spacey, ethereal moments on previous records will be disappointed. I am so glad they went in a different direction. Can u name a band with a more diverse discography?
