I know this is bolded on RYM and it seems to be the Beach House album fans like the most, but after peeping some of the songs, this sounds like the poster child for something I wouldn't like. I've always found this genre boring.

I've always loved this genre, tbh

I love the genre too but what I love more than the genre are great songs and this album is pretty lacking in those.

really dig the beefed up guitars on this one, the harmonizing does wonders to reinvigorate their sound.

Rabid, my worry here is I’m not sure this has any amazing songs...I’m starting to think of lowering thisto a 3.5 - say nothing Boney! Don’t judge me ;D

I may have been a bit premature with my high rating here

"So does this sounds like DC? because I liked DC more than Bloom and TD."

bloom n td are a lot lighter than this, this has a heavier feel to it textually and sonically, i havent listened to depression cherry in a long ass time so i dont know how it compares to that one

Lucid - the Friedberger is so close to a 4.5 I just thought I’d take the pressure off her for a bit. The David Byrne also got chopped to a 4/5 and looks more comfortable for it. The only album that slowly climbed up the rankings to a 4.5 is the Paddy Hanna and sure that’s the safest 4.5.

The Tropical Fuck Storm is definitely a 4.5, that one’s safe as houses too. The A.A.L is my ‘decoy 5’ Like most years - that’ll prob be replaced at the end of the year by the ‘true 5’ as happened in 2017. Don’t like giving too much away.

I saw that Tropical Fuck Storm debuted at #5 on the rym charts so it's definitely on my radar. Will give it a listen soon

L'Inconnue is breathtaking though, I'll give this album that. It has some pretty moments that are growing on me.

Hell of an album cover too.

And a hell of an album actually, they make some really experimental playing sound surprisingly catchy and energetic
