I don't know which song it is that mentions that the fish won't judge you but that song is the best song on this

fyi ian not trying to crush your spirits. imo the best way to learn is to be forced to second guess your writing and consider giving it an overhaul from time to time. you'll never improve if all you get are back-pats, nahmnsaying

Based on your rating of this and your rating of TDAG, I think what you're trying to say is "if this is a 5, TDAG is an 8.3"

The cycle of "lmao just waiting for the other side to grow up/stop being pretentious douches" is never going to end with BN on sput, it's tradition at this point

"With Science Fiction, Brand New managed to squander all expectations thrown their way" - squander has negative connotations and you don't justify why this is a good thing.
I don't think the Oasis digression works, or is relevant, because the bands aren't analogous at all
I don't think "fickle" is the best word to base a motif around
I feel like you talk a lot about the point of the album but other than some (insightful!) disquisitions on life and death in the first para -- which seem to be a propos nothing -- i've read this four times and i don't know what the point is, or the profound statement they're trying to convey, or the one you are. what is the ideology? what is the crux that hauls fans out of the rut? none of this explained, which means the review doesn't cohere; i know that music is ineffable, and the feelings and ideations it inspires can be hard to pin down, but you're a good reviewer, a really good reviewer, so you have to, even if it means taking a breath and waiting a couple of hours before posting.
idk it's not that the review is badly written, on the contrary, but ultimately it doesn't really say anything because it's burdened by the weight of excitement. i'm on the fence, basically.
