I haven't seen Thrice since 2010 but saw them a number of times between 2005-2010 and they were much, much better live then. The new songs also fell flat except for Hurricane.
Deftones played a number of good tunes from Around the Fur, Diamond Eyes, and White Pony which was nice but didn't sound as good as past times I've seen them - mainly Chino didn't sound as good as in the past, and the venue probably played a role with the acoustics but they weren't able to capture their signature atmosphere for a lot of the setlist. They clearly recognized what their 3 best albums are though which was nice.

@Itwasthatwas: Yo Chino was so awful like what the hell, he was constantly talking lyrics instead of singing, totally failing to hit notes.
Absolutely butchered Elite, the robot voice mess-up had me laughing out loud and when he literally talked in a whiny nasally voice 'when you're ripe you'll bleed out of control' was pure cringe.
Totally butchered the chorus of Diamond Eyes and talked parts of Rocket Skates was fucking deplorable.

and how bad was the whispered part of lhabia that he basically ended up pseudo-rapping? never expected them to make their old tunes sound more numetal as opposed to less in 2017

Anyone else hear the song Broadcast(Signal)Frequency of the deluxe edition? It's a pretty damn awesome song imo, surprised it wasn't on the main edition.

finally listening to this and why does it feel like every song is so longggg
edit: Yeah, the first four songs are average, Mourning in Amerika is decent, and there's a brief, glorious few seconds of Miracle where they sound like a real band, but yeah it's pretty bad. Far From Perfect, Bullshit and Politics of Love is a trilogy of trash

good lord they're still not done? they jumped the shark so long ago it's disappeared over the horizon.

Miracle is decent, cringe inducing lyrics

I love this review, the imagery is great xD I couldn't agree more. Even in genres that aren't lyrically driven, if the lyrics don't resonate with me, the music's re-listen value goes way down.

album's probably dull like their last couple but damn I love that artwork. that sort of glitchy pixel-sorted style is my jam.

I think I'm finally to the point where I can't defend them anymore. Seems like they're content to just crank out the same derivitive bullshit they've been giving us since Endgame.
