'waiting to see the opinions of people who actually listen to hip hop

i actually cant be the only person who thinks this is fucking garbage'

I don't listen to much hip-hop and gave this a spin last night. Thought it ranged from pretty crappy to passable. The first song is just terrible, surprised I kept listening, tbh.

Idk this is pretty cool imo, it's like a Trap/~Abstract~ hybrid and doesn't really lean to much to either side.

the if youre reading this project is the closest drake ever came to not pop and it was p universally acclaimed in the hiphop community

2016 Interlude was nice and I kind of liked Eeny Meeny Miney Moe. This isn't really my style anyway, I suppose.

I kind of like the off experimental shit anyways, and how is this cringey?

I mean, if you're taking this 100% seriously 100% of the time, then you're coming at this record all wrong.

I mean, I'm not. I was seriously asking, though. Is it supposed to parody shitty songs from '06? Or is it just a shitty song in '16?

I wouldn't call it a full-blown "parody", but the chorus does sound like something that's poking a fun at the bluntness of mid-'00s mainstream rap in a tounge-in-cheek kind of way. I just feel that they do it behind a sweet enough instrumental and bring some great lines in their verses that it excuses any potential dated feelings. But it's still that kind of sound, so if you have no tolerance for that kinda shit I can see why you wouldn't dig it at alll.

@dbizz Their last one had much more of a jazz rap feel, kinda like S On Ya Chest. So if you liked the gist of that song, you'll probably like that record much more.

@chuck I don't bring up Drake because he is or isn't hip hop per se, more so for saying "or people have a narrower range and thats why they only listen to the most accessible shit" when you yourself seems to promote the more ~accessible/commercial~ side of hip hop more then most people on the site.

I'm not criticizing your taste dude and I know you are one of the biggest "hip hop heads" on the site. I also never said that that was the only kind of hip hop you listen to either, all I said was you promote/respect it more then most people here.
