> nah I mean look at the list of Canadian tech death bands. it's small. Gorguts and Cryptopsy are the only big names, the only influencers.

Archspire. Augury. Beyond Creation. Cryptopsy. First Fragment. Gorguts. Martyr. Neuraxis. Quo Vadis. Unhuman.

It's not simply Canada, however: it's only Quebec. Beyond Quebec, Canada is a vacuous void of painfully regrettable loony-a-dozen poutine-swilling Hamilton-expurgated *core bands. It's a national scandal. Quebec, however! Quebec has more technical death metal bands per capita than Scandinavia has inhumanly incinerating illicit backyard saunas.

But it isn't simply quantity. It's quality. Quebec is the home of technical death metal, much like Florida was the home of traditional death metal. The torch may have passed on, but the passionate flame remains the same.

"Quebec has more technical death metal bands per capita than Scandinavia has inhumanly incinerating illicit backyard saunas."

Most of those belong to Wintersun as a way of coaxing Jari from his house and into a studio.
