This really grew on me, I consider it above average now. At first I couldn't shake the general feeling of being bored / annoyed by this.

I still haven't warmed up to this, maybe someday.

Following his much-publicized battle with mental health issues, Passion Pit front-man Michael Angelakos sounds much healthier on the synth-pop act's 3rd LP 'Kindred'. Hopeful & optimistic in tone, the lyrics here are unfortunately less provocative for that fact. An accessible & focused record filled to the brim with pulsating synths, stomping beats & many 80s influences, the glossy production is both a pro & a con, as is Angelakos' divisive falsetto. The album's up & down latter half is its main drawback, so it's a blessing that this is a concise 37 minutes worth. Recommended Tracks: Lifted Up, My Brother Taught Me How to Swim, Where the Sky Hangs & Until We Can't.

Where the Sky Hangs is a great pop tune, probably the best one on the album.

I really like this album. The sugary sweetness doesn't bother me. His music has always had that sound. "Whole Life Story" is my favorite of his for sure. I'm curious as to where to find his new album

Relistening to this after TSOL. This is better than I remember (though the second half runs out of gas until Ten Feet Tall), TSOL is still better than this, and Gossamer is just incredible.
