I don't think it's awful or anything, just much prefer other loosely related stuff.
First reference there would be the guitar based and more folkish Draggin a Dead Deer Up a Hill and from there a few of Natural Snow Buildings works, most notably The Centauri Agent.
Julianna Barwick is also an example of an artist doing something similar but with more exploration of textures through voice layering.
The best way to put my struggles with this album is probably that the piano is simply to dominant and that ain't my jam.
