Climactic doing things the right way
idk if I can call 4.20 the best here though, they're all so fucking good. 4.18 hits like a truck in parts, 4.19 riffs the hardest and 4.20 is bm to the core.
Would recommend Spag. I haven't listened to it as much as Spectral Lore yet, but if it ages well its bm aoty

I don know. That riff on 4.20. The one that comes in around 5:45. So. Fucking. Mean.
And I honestly feel like it has the most interesting structure and flow. I've listened to the whole thing 4 times but I've played 4.20 like 6 other times on its own.

that riff is fucking nasty, probably the best on the album but it doesn't last that long compared to all the sweet riffing through 4.19. We can agree it's like top-5 material for the year though

Great black metal is great all the time, cold or no. I just think of it as the embodiment of
scorching heat as opposed to ripping frost.
Anyway, need more listens, can't get enough of this right now.

Oh and I'm on that Spectral Lore, that's a hell of an album too. Love how they swing into doom, and
the bass work is really something in parts. Quite a journey, it's a very well executed album.
But this brings the feels. The trapped in a busted spaceship spiraling out of control into the
endless dark nothing feels.

Meloncholie^2 is soooo gooooood. Few albums can sell me on atmosphere alone but that one sure as hell does.
This I think would not quite make it just on atmosphere. Good thing it has bonecrushing facesmashing riffage.

Oh I agree, Red Snow and Hymn to the Frost are so well done in every aspect. But yeah, to echo your last sentence, the imagery he creates on that album is soooooo vivid.
