Even though it was without Amott :]

I felt like some of the riffs had an Amott-esque sound to them, but Jeff and Bill seemed to manage fine without him.

The group was founded by the super Amott bros, and they were pretty good in the 90's.
|
| |
Yeah, but they've really been lagging behind lately, and this album is proof of their decline.

They make enough to support themselves. They do some pretty big festivals and stadium-size concerts. And they have 1.4 million facebook followers. That's slightly more than Opeth.

Ugh more than opeth I hate people

AE are much more accessible than Opeth so it's not shocking they have more followers online. Opeth still wipe the floor with them when it comes to actual album sales, however. (Or at least in the United States. I haven't checked the Swedish sales info.)

I'm honestly surprised that Opeth have such a large FB following, considering bands like Porcupine Tree and Katatonia are so much more accessible

Emester, Doomsday Machine and Black Earth is really fuckin great. They are also a great live band or at least have been (Saw them on the Khaos Legions tour)

I'm new to the band, I think it's pretty decent but at the same time almost entirely forgettable. Need more cleans from Alissa and Michael needs to let the other members contribute to the damn songwriting process. Dude can do some mean leads but he needs other members' contributions in order to progress the sound instead of having this endless stagnation. Christopher Amott has the right idea with his different style he's using in Armageddon.
