I love how grimy it sounds but it's also beautiful the same way an album like Master of Reality in many ways is but it's also so 90s grunge too. Just so good overall and so much to enjoy and appreciate.

I remember Riki Rachtman wearing a hockey jersey with this album cover on it on Headbangers’ Ball. It looked like a New York Rangers jersey. It was pretty sweet.

yeah, the vocals are awesome. Caputo's natural baritone voice with the high upper range is so unique. One of my friends said it sounded like a lounge singer doing metal and that's all I hear now

The constant tempo changes on these tracks are so sick. Love this very specific fusion of metal, grunge and NYHC with clean vocals; I think Only Living Witness are the only other band that come close.

It's crazy how this band dropped one of the best hc records of all time then pretty much moved entirely past the genre. Ugly still shows some influence but they leaned much more into the grunge part of their sound. Both are stellar. Any old heads round here see them on any hc lineups?
