No. He's definitely more of a metal drummer. More of a Portnoy sound. Whereas Zonder was more light and agile.

Zonder is a metal drummer too, he was drumming for Warlord in the '80s and he is back with Warlord now.
FT-era Zonder used the cymbals more showing a trademark austerity towards frenetic/continuous drum fills and double bass drumming.
You should check Jarzombek with Riot - especially the Thundersteel, Privilege of Power and Immortal Soul albums - he kicks serious ass in those albums.
