Sorry toxin, I couldn't resist. And well, the line "nothing seems to change" was meant to mean that they're trying to switch things up by experimenting but it doesn't affect the music all that much.

"What makes 30 Seconds To Mars so remarkable as a band"
haha, stopped reading there tbh, sorry. I'm sure it's a good review but...yeah...there's no way you and I are on the same page.

Remember seeing a interview with Leto and he was the biggest prick to the interviewer. Haven't bothered with this band since then. Although l will admit Kings and Queens is a good song, but everything else I've heard l didn't like.

I'm someone who is very outspoken about my hatred for this band and yet I think this is a great album.

It looks like a Greatest Hits of the 50s art. Jesus.

leto is really pretentious tbh, but i do think this is one of the better bands to receive commercial success on a global scale. if beebe thinks this is good then it's probably pretty bad, but i'll check it out sometime

this sounds like some wild blend of synth pop and EDM with a couple of solid songs sprinkled on top, i actually liked what these guys used to do to be honest. meh

Great review. They've definitely become worse with every album. I knew this would be bad when I saw the album title. Also:
"however, loading up every single song, even acoustics (100 Suns) with enough gang shouting for a Wonder Years song is not."
Totally this. So fuckin annoying to hear said gang vocals on nearly every song.

"And well, the line "nothing seems to change" was meant to mean that they're trying to switch things up by experimenting but it doesn't affect the music all that much."
isn't your main complaint that they didn't seem to keep up with their space rocky first album?
i mean you could argue that nothing seems to change because this is still bad despite the experimentations but that doesn't really work with what you said in the review
i'm being pretty picky tho, don't take it personally. i've noticed how lazy these summaries get so you just happened to be the one i singled out

I will never bother with this

Alrighty then toxin. What I meant was, there hasn't been much of a development in style SINCE This Is War, obviously there has been since their debut. Like they try to trick us into thinking this is really new and original because of the electronic elements, but the songs are basically still overblown and pretentious as fuck and not really different at all. With a few exceptions, undeniably.

Gave it a 3 on first listen, last 2 listens made me realise it is extremely hollow. A lot of the songs feel half done, the other half Jared spent lots of time listening to Deus Ex soundtrack and serveral movie soundtracks.
