Most of what Dio touched watered the metal down to hard rock, which is not always ok with me. That's why I like Killing the

Dragon, which is like his version of Painkiller

Cos the albums I've changed my mind on have been growers, Holy Diver is as immediate as an album gets tbh.

agreed lateralus grows from like a 2 to a 4.5 after just one random listen when it "clicks"

just give it a listen, what's to lose?
and it's a rocking album that you do enjoy, it's not like I'm telling you to listen to fuckin nickelback or something

You are not listening to what I'm saying.

I've heard it many times and don't feel like jamming it at the moments, not going to force it just to follow sheep and 5 it for trve approval.

I think the production on here is awesome, and Holy Diver's, on the hand, sounds dry (in terms of the instruments, vox production is perfect tho).

Also yeah, the riffs here are cooler, imo.

I'm not saying listen to it right this second... you should be listening to the new Slayer track right now

and I'm not saying just 5 it

all I'm saying is give it another listen one day WHENEVER YOU FEEL LIKE because I know what you're like and I think you will like it a lot more than what you think you do

When I listened to "Dream Evil" back in 1988 it didn't quite click. There were a few songs like "Sunset Superman", "Naked In The Rain", "Night People" and "All The Fools Sail Away" that I liked. But since then "Dream Evil" has grown up on me, it is probably on my top 4 Dio albums. Like TheNotrap said, his singing here is incredible. Everytime I hear "Sunset Superman" gives me goosebumps. Very underrated album that with a better production could have been a classic album. Goldy digs it too!!
