What if they kept this level of quality writing but had some raw production ala Kurt Ballou style

I hope that happens, there isn't much decent metalcore left. Ballou would be awesome with an album like this

I really love the Ballou sound though so I see that as a good thing.

Also, I don't think they'll be able to top this either. But if they did, my panties would drop

Ballou's the man, but I dunno how much he'd have to contribute to a norma jean record. I think I'm just not as big a fan

of the musical direction the band has taken in recent years. Either that or I romanticize Redeemer too much and therefore

think everything after pales in comparison.

Wrongdoers was good, but it loses steam on a few accounts. It didn't hit as hard as Meridional, I found it slightly

simplistic in relation to their other albums, and... well thats all i got for now.

This goes way harder than Meridional. About half of the tracks on that album can be called Norma Jean and the rest is just continuing on from Anti-Mother (albeit no where near as fucking horrible). This actually combines their old sound with the new perfectly. Redeemer was my favorite Norma until this came out

'Everything pails in comparison'

Lol. I would be really interested in a ballou produced NJ album. Would most likely be awesome but he does kinda make albums sound like his own

yeah don't get me started on anti-mother. i just think the first five songs off meridional knock anything wrongdoers has out of the park... cept maybe 'lash whistled...' and 'you got it at five...'

However, having said that, I know you're a massive fan of this album Xing. No matter what I say, I assume your opinion will stay rooted where it is.

Meridional has like 5 or 6 songs that are really awesome but this is more solid as an album
